Nomadic Bear Response Urban Safety Coalition: Protecting Our Wildlife and Community
The Nomadic Bear Response Urban Safety Coalition (NBRUSC), is an initiative close to our hearts. This volunteer organization, founded by Leah Baum, focuses on the safety of both our community and local wildlife. NBRUSC seeks to:
- Monitors Bear Activity: Our team receives alerts of bear sightings and promptly tracks and follows the bears. To report an urban bear sighting, see links.
- Public Alerts: We notify the public, especially joggers, families with children, and pet owners, about nearby bear activity to ensure their safety.
- Guides Bears Back: Using our trucks, we guide the bears back to their natural habitat, minimizing the risk of human-wildlife conflict.
Tech Pals: Bridging the Digital Divide
Founded by Leah Baum in 2019, Tech Pals is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide. Our mission is to ensure that everyone, regardless of age or background, has access to the technology and skills they need to thrive in today's digital world. Through Tech Pals, we offer:
- Technology Training: We provide free workshops and one-on-one sessions to teach essential digital skills, from basic computer use to advanced software applications.
- Device Donations: We collect and refurbish used devices, ensuring they get into the hands of those who need them most.
- Community Support: Our volunteers offer ongoing support to help individuals stay connected and make the most of their technology.
- VR Silver: Virtual Reality for older adults.
Longmont Emergency Unit
Paint Baum's owner, Leah Baum is a proud probation member of The Longmont Emergency Unit, volunteering since 2024.
As a volunteer with the Longmont Emergency Unit (LEU), Leah proudly serves as part of an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting our community in critical times. LEU collaborates with local law enforcement by providing traffic control and EMS services during accidents, assisting in missing person searches, and ensuring safety at community events and parades.
Contribute directly to the safety and well-being of our community, offering hands-on support in emergency and public service situations, and it's an honor to work alongside a team of skilled and dedicated individuals committed to making a positive impact.
